Super hot sailing and charter Croatia destination: Zadar
For centuries, Zadar was the capital of Dalmatia and today it is a regional center, a city with a rich heritage of world importance that is visible at every step: the Roman Forum from the 1st century; St. Donatus' from the 9th century,
the most famous medieval basilica and symbol of the city; the restored Romanesque St. Krsevan's built in the 12th century; the bell tower of St. Mary's dating back to 1105; St. Anastasia's Cathedral from the 13th century, the People's Square with the City Lodge and Guard from the 16th century; the mighty fortified walls with their impressive harbour and land gates dating back to the 16th century, the Square of the Three Wells and the Square of the Five Wells, and numerous palaces, villas and other historical monuments.
Zadar owes its attractiveness largely to its natural position half-way down the Adriatic coast, surrounded by 4 National Parks: Plitvice Lakes, the Paklenica Canyon, the wonderful River Krka waterfalls, and a string of wondrous islands called Kornati. No less attractive are the nature parks: Telašćica, the River Zrmanja Canyon, and Lake Vrana near Biograd, the largest natural lake in Croatia.
The central Zadar Riviera region is equally accessible from all directions and by all means of transport.
